HOCKEY PROGRAMS

Our Hockey program consists of four parts called 'Hockey Skills'...

Hockey Skills Program:
  Ages for the Hockey Skills Program is from ages 6-up.


Part 1 - Power Skating - Teaches how to maximize and strengthen your skating ability.

Part 2 - Puck Skills - Learning how to control the puck making it feel like a part of your stick.

Part 3 - Protection, Body & Checking - Designed for all ages and skill levels.  We believe it is vital to train properly on how to check and how to protect yourself.

Part 4 - Program Fusion - "Game Situations" Taking what you learn on the ice - fused together with goalies to put into practice.  Note:   Fusion occurs at a one group school. For a two group school see "Typical Day".


          PART ONE - POWER SKATING INCLUDES...

  • Maximize your stride, forwards and backwards

  • Learn explosive moves and fakes to escape coverage

        PART THREE - BODY PROTECTION & CHECKING INCLUDES... (takes place depending on age groups)

  • Defensive measures to protect yourself from a body-check
  • Learn cushioning techniques to receive a check properly
  • Know how to respect your opponent in contact situations
  • Experience leverage techniques to gain an advantage in checking
  • Acquire how to give proper body-checks
  • Learn how to pin and contain your opponent
  • Use your body as an extension of your skills
